About a Girl, a Male Nun and a Coward
Ever wondered what heaven would look like? You're probably wondering whether it looks more like a city of clouds, a Disney-themed amusement park, a Bentley garage with VIP treatment, the backyard of that one uncle who always smelled like whiskey, or Bree Van de Kamp's house. No? Oh. Maybe that's just us. Not that this has anything to do with the play, by the way.
Written and directed by Remy L. Overkempe, and produced by Ratna Marapin, Lenette Vlasman and Overkempe for VU University Amsterdam, this new English-language play had a successful run at CREA Theater in Amsterdam from April 21 to 23, 2011 (limited run).
The play was performed by VU University's theatre company FUNEST Theatre Company, who were responsible for the 2009 Amsterdam production of Naomi Wallace's The New York Times called it "a well-made trilogy exploring that cauldron that is the Middle East, [with] absorbing characters and sharp, evocative dialogue."The Fever Chart, and are currently also producing a student adaptation of Stoppard's Arcadia. The involvement of FUNEST ensured that both the development and the performances ended up being a grand ol' time.
